Hi all,
Just thought I would post some more pics of recent work and stuff we have done ages ago.
We made a pair of wheelie bars up for the car about 4 years ago but never got to try them. We are keen as to give them a run.

We also made up a crank girdle for the engine to tie the main caps together and will be using main studs instead of bolts.
The girdle was a hole lot of fun to make, we did it with a pedastal drill, hole saw, hack saw and linisher. Damn it would be nice to have a milling machine. haha

Also started the dummy assembly of the engine today, this one is using forged pistons and forged billet rods. Sexy stuff.

We weren't gonna post pics until after we have run but thought you guys might appreciated it.

Anyway enjoy.
Cheers Dan and Ben

This is shaping up to be a contender for the sickest E15 going, by the looks of it...

But I'm confused. WTF is the point of a wheelie bar on a FWD?

ummm, to stop wheelies?

seriously, the front will lift and the wheelie bar stops it lifting too much.

Ah, it's just to restrict rearward weight transfer.

Fair enough. Wouldn't a bigger wheel provide less rolling resistance though?

They always have those tiny ones.

I think weight comes into it too.

How do you mean? Weight on the wheel, or the inertia of the car versus that small amount of drag?

Im might be wrong. But i believe fwd run wheelie bars because. With drag slicks u will notice they always look flat. They do expand when u do ur warming up skid. But when u lanch for ur run. The wheelie bar stop the car from bouncing.

On a FWD car the wheelie bars effectively lengthen the wheelbase of the car and also if set up correctly practically eliminate any squat in the rear suspension. The net result is less weight transfer from the front of the car to the rear and an increase in grip between the front tyres and the road surface.
