Last few days i'm doing a lot of sanding in the engine-bay. At first some before-pictures with a lot of surface-rust:

And on the inside i removed the blower etc etc:

After some sanding i gave all the rust some Noverox/Fertan. Some stuff thats ideal to get surface-rust away:

And i gave tha car a wash hahaha:

And yesterdaynight i did even more sanding. After the sanding (frontpanel mostly to the metal because of surface-rust) i gave everything a coat of noverox:

If that's stuff's the same as the rust converter I'm used to, you shouldn't put it on thick.

I don't know what you use?? I have to make the surface clean and then make it wet with normal water. After that i need to give it 2 layers to make it work, both in the opposite direction so the stuff goes in every small corner.... Then i need to let it dry 24 hours and then i need do sand it all away. Tonight it well be powder on the places where rust was still doing his work. On the other places it just get hard and it feels like coat...

Hi all!

It's update-time! After a few holidays i started this week with a fresh mind on my Cherry! At first i want to start with the engine because it's now ready! The gearbox is now also ready and had a complete revision with new bearings and synchro-rings and some bushings for the 5th gear that should fix a eventually pop-out problem.

I made a start on the turbo. The standard T2 should have a revision to make it as perfect as the rest of the engine but i decided to look for a brand-new turbo. A T22 from the twin-turbo 300zx is good available and is a direct-fit. Only the downpipe isn't so this will be custom-made for me. At the end i will make about 140-150 hp out of this engine, awesome!!!

Well, now some photo's from my "finished" engine:

Hi all!

Today i finished the painting-project! Saturday i sprayed the wheelarches and radiator-support in the anti stone-chip and today i painted everything with color215 and after that 2 layers of clearcoat. The result is breathtaking, you only can't see it as good as i would on the photo's. Due to to less light and a lot of spray in the air. Enough said, pictures:

This is with clearcoat:

I made the choise to spray also the inner arches in 215-color, i think i like it a lot!

And the engine + gearbox is done. Some more pictures:

Cheers!
