My Nissan Cherry 1.3. Finished, is now a 1.5 turbo :D

Post by nissancherryn12 »

Hi!

What a great forum! There a heaps of parts available here and that's the main reason that i registered here. My name is Rens, comming from The Netherlands and 19 years old. My daily-drive is a Nissan X-trail 2.5 but that's not the car where my money goes to. That's my Nissan Cherry N12 with a 1.3 (stock 60bhp, mine also stock does 70bhp on the dyno 8) ). It's a special edition with 2-tone paint, turbo-seats and some extra's like 5-speed gearbox. How it was begin of 2007:

in the last few months i have done a few mods:

-Silvia S12 wheels with 185-55-15
-rear spoiler
-front spoiler
-original radio-casetteplayer
-a lot of work on the engine
-etc etc etc

and now it looks like this:

I also have another car, a Cherry 1.5GL. This one need still a lot of work...

I want to give this car a little bit more USA/australie tuning that's why i am searching for the spoiler kit on this forum. Also will get some black-painted silvia S12 wheels, big exhaust maded by EPS-stainless steel exhaust (custom) and some big-ass stereo etc.

G'day Rens, welcome to the forum!
That's a pair of very nice Cherry's you should be proud.
Will you be doing a turbo transplant on the red one?
And which spoiler kit were you looking for exactly? Is it the one like mine:

You'll find them on a Nissan Gazelle over here (a.k.a. N12 Silvia)
There should be heaps kicking around.

hi!

Tnx for the warm welcome! 8) My Cherry is now standing by the garage because all the small rust-spots will be welded and all the black paint will be sprayed over! It's now for a month away and it will take at least another month to make it 110%

Btw, i mean with the USA-style your standard ET-spoilerkit. Aspecially the front bumperspoiler is really cool to see! never seen something like that in Europe before 8)

Greetz!

Hi!

Time for a small update. The restoration now really get's shape! Lot of bodywork has been done and i have got heaps of new parts (trims etc)! Unfortunately some grazy people had put some scratches on my perfect paintwork  So it will need now a complete re-spray! That's is really hard to do because of the two-tone and the original striping which just belong to this car! I hope my car is ready in the beginning of juli this year with a complete new paint-job. I also found a new turbo-grill (black/red) and the original Cherry turbo sideskirts (factory 8) ). Some photo's:

and some of the welding:

Together it will now be a restauration of 3000 euro's

I'm also looking for the rear sideskirts that only fit's the side of the back of the car. I hope someone could help me with these!

Tnx!

greetz,

Tnx mate 8) I hope i will found one of these for my red Cherry. Btw, the red Cherry is now on the road. A lot of rust has been welded away and it already makes a trip of 2000km without any problems! Lot's of them were made on the German roadway and i had a top speed of 185 on the GPS  Just flat road without hard wind or something like that

Hey Rens! It's nice to see a N12 Cherry from Europe in as good condition as your 1.3, I thought they all were rusty and faded. :P

The 1.5 does not look that bad either, I can barely see any rust. You've got hold of a couple of good Cherries there. Most Cherries in Finland are found at junkyards, and those I have seen on the roads are very very rusty.

By the way, did the Silvia wheels bolt right on at the rear, or have you used spacers? I have a hard time finding 15-inch rims with a suitable offset for my Cherry. Those Silvia wheels look great on the Cherry!
