turbo is almost on and ready to go again.

gotta do a double oil change, also switchin oils to motul turbolite, then double check the oil pressure and temp under load at the turbo, just to be safe as im im still not too sure what caused the last failure. then save a bit for a tune and wind it up to 25ish psi and see how much power the standard manifolds can support........

just cant wait to drive the fucker again

Id not get too bent out of shape about what caused the previous failure M8.
Turbos sometimes just shit for no apparent reason.
I recently had the turbo on my truck shit. It ran perfectly one day, I started it up from cold next day and on the very first gearchange it was squarking like a duck with a pineapple up its arse never to run again.
They sometimes just do it.

Is this DP a bb unit or bush bearing?

KK. Dont forget the oil rstrictor if it dun already have one.
Nice choice btw.
Traction control will be next on your agenda baaahahahah!
I can dig up some dyno pulls with 2 of them on a VG30dett. They hit like a hammer!!!
The car will actually be quite slow overall due to being fairly "peaky" but it will go close to bending your seat brackets when everything lights up!!!!!!!!
Up UP AND AWAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!

I'm not too sure wether the BB will need a restrictor. I know that the old Nissan OEM BB gear has issues with line oil pressure being far too high for the turbo 'seals', but I think aftermarket new turbos may be different. Just do a double check with Garrett or who produced the little snail.

Still the same now Damo Im almost +ive.
The bearings, unlike the old bush bearings which need pressure to support the saft within them and the bearings within the housing, dont actually need much lube oil at all. They use the flow mostly for cooling.

AFAIK they come restricted already but iuts worth checking out for sure.

Definitely, the oil pressure in the bush bearings float the shaft, where the oil in the bb is for lube only. I know with the VG bb I have on the testicle, it has a built in restrictor in the oil banjo, but its still not enough to drop the pressure to where it doesn't smoke. I'm pretty sure I needed to put a through barb inline with a 1/16th brazed restrictor to stop the shmoke.

I had a 2871r on my 180 & the thing was crazy to drive!..I can imagine it on a 1.5l :) ..expecially a fwd car..Just HOLD ON when it comes onto boost..As they hit HARD!...Oh & 2871r's have a built in oil restrictor..I'm putting one on a Gtir at work & im making up custom braided lines for it...

-4 for the oil feed
-6 for the water lines
