Been looking at ebay for 28/60 comp wheels, can get them for around $60-$70. Ill have to get hold of one and graft it into the the BB on the engine ATM.
Designed to run 25psi, should be far better than the OEM wheel.

Picked up a set of 4 of these the other day:
Image

Got them of Ebay for $50 each. They are 800cc squirters! :D

I was immediatly dubious of their capability. So, time to flow:
Image

20secs later, I had this:
Image

AWSOME!!

Now I had a set of genuine 750cc @ 2.5bar (825cc @ 50psi) injectors to monster the E15 with E85 fuel!!

Not to mention that I had picked up another bosch 024 to make a complete set of 6 for the RB30.

Previously, I was running around 85% D/C on the 520cc (024's @ 50psi). So with the extra 30% of fuel needed for the E85 for the same power as normal fuel, (520cc x .85 = 442cc. 442 + 30% = 575cc) and 30% more power to be made from the E85 (575 + 30% = 747cc) they will fit the bill quite nicely.

So, with that extra 30% power possibly available, it should take the already 180ish to ................... :D :D 220kw+.

Watch this space.

Don't expect anything too soon though, I do have wiffy and kiddits. :D :D

Plussssss, the fuel for 300watts from the ol RB30!

Damo,
You might need to scallop the centre of those plates to make sure the ends of the drive shafts don't rub on it.

A couple more vids from the weekend. The new 700cc+ injectors are in and I replaced that busted-ass dump bolt.

Walk around:

Dose from in the car:

Dose from outside the car plus exhaust note:

The car hasn't been washed for a while so its a little grubby, but keeping it clean doesn't rank really high on the to-do list! :D

Yeah I know, I would prefer not to holesaw the entire thing out if I can avoid it. Any ideas how deep the shafts penetrate the gears by?

Sorry, no. The genuine phantom grip images shows a hole right through the middle.... can't remember what bill freame and co did....

Must say I'm still not convinced about the use of aluminium though, I reckon that'll spall up very quick, not good on wear resistance and forms those balls of ali...

guess we'll see.

Well, its been a little while and things are almost ready to test out!

One of the first probs I have run into, is that one of those 'new' high-flowed injectors has a f#$king leak out of the body of the injector! I have pulled it out from the rail and tried to massage it back to health, but it hasn't seemed to work. I will try one more time, then probably bite the bullet and purchase replacement. :x

I also ripped the box out of the old girl to fit the phantom grip to the diff. Getting the thing out posed no problem, getting the PG into the diff housing caused a headache. The retaining pin wouldn't come out of the spider gear idler shaft, waste a good 3hrs screwing with that till I cried enough and used a spare I had lying around.
Then there was getting the box back in! In the 7 years since my last box change I had lost the finess and deft touch to get it back in easily. I completely lost my shit and belted the crap out of the lid of the tool box that was nearby as I lay under the front of the Pulsar, in old smelly gear oil, with the box sitting defiant on my chest!
Luckily, I had ran out of time that day and had to leave it till the next week.
With a bit of thought, I pulled the remaining braces and supports out of the way, and it slid into place first try.
Either way, long story short, I tested how much break away torque was required before the LSD gave way, and it is able to hold 30ft/lbs (42Nm) torque until the diff free-wheels. This compares to 19ft/lbs of a Phantom Grip unit installed on another box that someone had on another forum a little while back. So I am initially pleased with the figures. Just have to see how the thing drives.

In the end, the shafts only penetrate past the inner face of the spider gears by less than 2mm, so I am going to shorten the shafts rather than scallop the PG to make it fit sung.

Had to devise a way to keep the halves compressed...............
I know!
. I will cut a 1/2 link of chain and drill some holes.
Image
Look closely, I have sanded and polished the face of the shaft gears which mate against the PG.
Image
Not pretty! This pic doesn't show the metal I had to cut off it to fit it in the diff casing.

Well, the results of the PG are far from encoureging. It still spins up 1st and 2nd on 15psi without the slightest bit of hesitation, but seems to hold on to third a little more covincingly. Before 'it' used to feel like it was trying to let go, but now it feels more solid in third. I will find out tonight when I wind the wick back upto 25psi.
