Damo's ET
A couple more short vids, wideband AFR showing change from pump 98 octane to around a 50/50 mix with E85. Going to be taking it for a spin tomorrow night and fill it up with some more $1.05 goodness.
I haven't used the autronic for a little while so I was a little rusty in Vid #3.

Awesome, man!
Never mind about being rusty using the program, it was still interesting to watch! Didn't even notice you were 'rusty' until you said it.
At this moment, E85 is only sold at three (yes, three!) gas stations in my country, all at the capital. I hope they start selling it throughout the country. Would be an interesting conversion project!

A couple of quick updates.
I did a wheel alignment a little while back and set 'it' to zero. I did a slight tweak of 'toe in' as I wasn't completely happy with the result, feels better now.
Also added the dual front bar I had welded up, car feels much flatter through corners. Just need to do a little grinding to avoid under car banging due to clearance issues.
Swapped back to the stock cam from the big-as-you-can-go-from-the-stocker-grind-cam which has been in the car for a few years now. As I was expecting, engine is quite lean down low now which will need a slight re-tune. But the re-found bottom end of boost torque is welcome.
Also, installed some hard rubber spring spacers (at the front) to give a slightly stiffer front spring and approx 20mm lift in the front end, which has been lacking since I dropped the silly low kings from a while ago.
During the week, I bought a linisher which I plan on lightening a set of standard pistons and rods for a future engine build.
With a quick suck and see, I was able to remove around 15grams from the little end, and another 10 from the big end with a light clean up. This to me seems quite good, so I will purse doing a complete set properly. I also found that there are a set of tapered piston pins which save around 12grams over the common non tapered ones I have used in the past.
If I can cut the weight from the little end by 30-40grams, I'd be stoked. The rods will look good shiny too.
I may have to go the whole hog and prep a crank aswell.
As per normal, I will try and keep you guys informed.
BTW, I have to post up some pics of the cams side by side.

BROKE IT!
What not to do:
1, Have a big fuck-off intercooler which prevents a engine fan
2, Use the interior fan to cool the engine when getting warm or idling down
3, Allow a small screw to fall into the fan speed mechanism and prevent it
from operating at all!
4, Show Glen that you have figured out Auto Tune on the lap top while the
engine is idling away, building temp till 'you' notice it is at 114c!!!!!!
Short story, engine has overheated, warped the head, spat all the engine oil the next night after I thought I had dodged a bullet.
So I have to pull it down and inspect what has happened.
Chain of events:
Head warped, but not enough to initially let go.
Next big load-up, blew the H/G from comp chaimber to oil gallery and atmosphere.
Lotsa blowby to catch can, oil spewing from #4 front of engine.

that's no good man. My old man has a saying which could help ya with this situation... if your cooking never leave the kitchen!
Now that the engine is cooked, how bout those photos of the 2 cams together?
