so after 9 moths of being fucked around and completely ass fucked by warren pickstone @ global automotive specialists in sumner park, I have decided to teach myself yet another facet of car building.......... upholstery.

heres what I got back after a 9 month wait, endless broken promises and shit dribble.

old industrial juki sewing machine I picked up, still in the process of tiding it up and fixing a couple of things

and 200 sq ft of Italian leather

just need to find the time to get some practice in

It's idiots like that that can bring a really good car build crashing down... so props to you for picking it back up again. Looks like another big project ahead! But when you you ever do anything by halves Kane :p

Why didn't they do the job? It is the old story of Jap classics being neglected while the classic V8s get all the glory?

yeah mike, he does mostly new car stuff for dealerships, he use to do work for our yard, that's why I went and saw him, because he does do good work. I spoke to him 2 weeks before Christmas last year, and he seemed real keen on doing it for me. then weeks turned into months, and so it went on.

I think its like a spray shop mentality, they would rather do lots of little jobs like insurance work, rather than a full resto.........

a few update pics

the carpet roughly laid in, still need to tweek it in a few spots
Image

new rear parcel shelf with speaker cut outs
Image

sub sitting in box so I could work out floating boot floor.
Image

16mm ring spacer to allow clearance for back of sub
Image

amplifier mounting positions, roughly wired up to ensure everything works
Image

another angle
Image

floating boot floor. I had to cut it down the middle and hinge it, as it wouldn't go in, in a single piece.
Image

the rear facia has also been made to cover amps and battery, pics of that to come
