Oh darn... well if you haven't got the time for it, it's understandable to sell it. But me being a bit sentimental, I wouldn't sell the car. :cry:

I guess there are a lot of people that at some point in their lives have to "go on" and leave the old car projects behind, but it's always a bit sad when that happens. I hope you get your car sold to somebody that takes good care of it!

in all honesty dude these cars are shit but they have so much character, are fun and go fairly well when running right. we still play around with these things because they are a fun addictive little shitbox! :D - Ash

i'll only sell to an enthusiast which is why it's only on the two enthusiast sites.

It gets to a point where it would be more beneficial to move on, we have just bought a house and knocking the car debt down a substancial amount would help out with that.

I'll always have a toy car, just the next time due to the situation i am now in, it will be an older car with the cheap rego etc ;) if it comes to be i'll elaborate more :)

Cheers

oh, ok :)
I've only been updating on the site of the club im in.
Didn;t think anyone would be interested in what i'm doing, it's pretty out of the ordinary :) period specific bosozoku/shakotan style

I'll copy and paste from there.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thought I might start a thread.
The car doesn't fit the usual specs of a shakotan or boso inspired car, but since when is this style of modifying about fitting in? haha
The car is a 1985 Nissan Pulsar NX (EXA) Convertible. Nissan made 100 of them.
I've owned it for 2.5 years.
Was imported from Japan about 5.5 years ago. Complied then sat around for 3 years until I bought it.
It had very faded red paint which looked more pink than red, and a torn stardard roof with windows you couldnt see out of.
Genuine 76,000km on it when I bought it, it's got just over 100,000 now.
I went along the usual lines of modifying an n12 exa - swapped from the red vert interior to the nicer blue and black 'turbo' interior & put some 17" rims on it. (+40 offset :oops: )
I also got it resprayed in ford's velocity blue, got a new roof made, got coilovers for the front and strut braces front and rear. Bought a CCS body lip kit and fitted a pair of et rear pods.
I got sick of the way the 17s fitted and looked so decided to go more old school.
Started looking into the shakotan style, then saw the club repping at CJSS08 and found my way here to become more enlightened.
So far I've got low rear springs coming, i'll wind the front down to suit.
I'm getting wide steelies made up soon.
Getting full 2 tone decals done which i designed
hang ring is inside the car - a bit different fitment - the only handle int he car is the one to pull the roof closed, so it's on there :P
Elderly man suction cup
JAF sticker and a badge as well as the other stickers:
I've got a crystal blue steering wheel, a huge bubble blue dildo gear knob (pics coming)
and this just arrived:
got jesse to send it over for me.
Gang-star Blue with rainbow flakes horn button :P
dodgy phone photo haha
Cheers mate :)
Picked up a pulsar ET last night.
the et is turbo and the head is ported with 3 angle valve grind and port matched manifolds.
i'll be bolting the head and gear onto the vert's carby motor to create a high compression low boost setup. should be good for low down power which will help with towing for bunnings runs :P
the car came with polished et rims with new tyres, nolothane bushes, harnesses, slotted rear rotors and a whole bunch of other parts im yet to look at.
so yeh stoked.. should get the car going a lot faster and handling a lot better.
also considering getting a early n12 pulsar front with the slim headlights..
thinking of converting to sharknose.......
i like it, what do you guys reckon? heres a quick dodge up so you know what i mean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A little update :)

Recently took posession of an N12 ET
The plan is to pull the aftermarket rear suspension & brakes out as well as all the fuel/brake lines, booster, res & looms out for the EXA

I'll be putting the E15ET head on the high compresssion E15S so the car can be EFI
Possibly look at turbocharging later down the track using a small (T02) turbo.

I took the head out of the ET yesterday, unfortunately what i suspected was correct.
I had spotted that a copper head gasket was used.
Copper head gasket = unreliable - they will never seal unless you have the block and head o-ringed and i didnt think they would have bothered with o-rings. N12 owners are generally very cheap and half assed. The car they are doing up is ususally worth sub 1000 so they judt dont care!
A standard head gasket would have worked fine, but someone wanted to be able to tell people they had a CHG - wanky...

the result was that it looks like pots 2,3 & 4 were all acting as one chamber and pot 1 was causing the drought in SEQ it had that much water - yay!
the car then sat for 5 years and it looks like the water may have pitted the #1 valves before it had the chance to dry out.

time for a head rebuild! haha
i could probably just clean it up and wack it on, but i may as well replace the valves and get it skimmed just for reliability's sake. The rockers etc are spotless, looks like they havent even run, it looks like its had a decent amount of work done to it, just one stupid thing made a mess of it.

so EFI is a little while off yet, depends how long it takes for me to get the head ready. maybe a few weeks?

Got a C32 laurel RB20E throttle body coming which should be a decent upgrade from the tiny E15 one.

Also getting a digital dash off my brother which was a factory option in the JDM Milanos, so that should be a nice touch :)

Will post more info when I get it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a wheelie good update!
new wheels coming soon!
w00t!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4x114.3 factory :P

only thing i'm not totally stoked about is the fact that the width will make it harder to find tyres that will stretch well. i'll need to get some very skinny tyres haha.
but offset should look awesome and there is a decent amount of dish on em.
If they don't stick out nough i've got 25mm bolt ons that i can use anyway...

7-10 weeks and they should arrive :P
plenty of time before CJSS

i've had a quick look on tyrestretch.com not many pics up there for this sizing.
anyone got an idea on what tyre i can use that's readily available?

It's made entirely out of pixels.....

It's not real yet bro :)
I'm looking into extending original steel panels.
Don't want to use too much fibreglass - you can tell the difference.
When i do it i want to do it right.
