New Member. Tim. Introduction about me and my ET

Post by TimmyET »

I am only 17 years old and I am being given my mothers 1985 Nissan Pulsar ET once i get my P's. Its basically completely stock. But the turbo had to be replaced a few years back because it had blown. I am not sure if my father has put a T2 back on it or an upgraded turbocharger or not. I drive it on a regular basis around town as I am on my L's and have taken it for a hoon a couple of times without my parents permission down the back of my house on my dirt roads :) alot of fun haha

I plan on doing it up a bit once i get a stable job near the end of this year or ASAP. I possibly plan on putting aftermarket bucket seats in it but i hear the stock seat are extremely comfortable for their day and age. I also want to do a bit of work on the engine and the exhaust for sure. I'm aiming for the 100kw mark at this stage. I definately need a better sound system in it. I want to lightweight it a fair bit aswell because P-platers arent legally allowed to have engine modifications on their vehicles because of Victiorian restrictions, hence the lightweight racing seats. It has only done about 136,000km's with no engine re-conditions. Its completely original besides the turbo.

I've done a fair amount of reading on this website. It's wonderful. If anyone is willing to give me suggestions on what to modify on it first I'm all ears. :D thanks

Don't want to burst a bubble, but you better check if a P plater can drive that car in Vic, new rules came in on July 1

yeah its all good. its plenty under the power to weight ratio.
and yeah its the only one in the district that i know of so the cops probly wont have a clue and i'll probly take the turbo stickers off. it has a low mount turbo that ya can hardly see hahaha :D
it should be in the nominated low power cars that are allowed to have turbo's.. i hope

i have never seen another ET pulsar besides mine.. weird i reckon

Sorry mate but taking the stickers off wont help you. The cops arnt stupid. If they catch you driving it, you will loose your licence. Its not worth it. Oh and it doesnt matter about power to ratio. Turbo's are illegal for p platers

thanks :D that was after we gave it a good clean then we had to re-spray the bumper to give it a bit of class back.
im not sure about torque steer, i havent put my put to the floor and seen if it turns by itself or not yet haha. it hates tarmac with bits of gravel on it but its fine on total gravel, any one elses handle bad on patial gravel? maybe my wheels need a bit of alignment :(
