The newbie Pauls n12 pulsar **update 19/11/2007**

Post by pwinkel20 »

Hi guys, i've been in the process of doing up my 1984 langley n12 pulsar, its stripped to bare and im respraying it in white PPG two pack, i have the motor out and a wrecked exa that i'll be transplanting the e15et, wiring and what not. Planning on putting a t25g turbo on it, the motor is going to be sent to Repower in toowoomba for a full engine rebuild, nothing too hardcore. The project is not about a big power house but more of a reliable, semiperforming car.
Im actually an auto electrician, so if anyone has any electrical questions don't hesitate to ask.

the project so far, apart from being so time consuming, has been comming together well....touch wood.
The actually tech section of this forum has been pretty helpfull with a heap of questions ive had so far.
Actually one question i cant find the anzwer to is the standard dump pipe there are two sensors, one being the o2 sensor and the other im not sure its a little metal probe with two wires which go to a little box i think it may be an exhaust temp sensor, any help would be muchly appreciated.
cheers paul

welcome to the forum pwinkel20. i think it's an exhaust temp sensor aswell but can't remember. it's not really needed for the running of the engine anyway.

Yeah, like the guys said, Exhaust temp sense, triggers the 2nd (smaller) fan which is also the A/C fan if you still have A/C.

Welcome to the club dude! Hope we can help you out as much as possible.

and this is the donor exa that i'll be taking everything i need off of. Got both cars for free, the exa i got off a neighbour who brought a vl turbo that the wiring was all stuffed so i said to him i'll fix that if u give the exa...started first go after sitting for years with not a drop of oil or water and i drove it around the block to my place where i stopped exactly where u see it :)

I painted the brake booster, wiper motor housing, starter motor and alternator in a custom baby blue 2k paint, i fully rebuilt them while i had them apart

Nice clean carpet out of the donor exa
With the birth of my second daughter on thursday things are probably going to move a little slower than they have been, but i will get it done
