Yeah, it was good day. I have some picts of the Gibson on the track and so other cars I'll put up soon. I had a look at the suspension setup. Shane has a pick of the rear here, the sway bar is only about 10mm thick and the blades are quite thin. There is no strut bracing upper or lower. Coil overs on the rear. The chassis has be seam welded in parts, which will improve stiffness. The owner siad they rely on the 9 inch rubber gor grip!

The sway bar might only be 10mm thick but the leverage is pretty short so it would be stiffer than a stock one.

Gibson racing cars always seem to have such long runners on their exhaust manifold

Yes we have longer arms, but...the spring rate varies with inverse of the arm length, but it varies with the 4th power of the diameter, so double the arm length and get half the spring rate, but double the diameter and get 16 times the spring rate.

now there are other things taht come into play, like the stiffness of the bushes and the relative stiffness of the arms etc... but thats a reasonable first approximation.

ohh, sorry for the delyed response, but I wanted to check my facts first.

See if the current owner would be gracious enough to make a mould.... I am sure a bunch of guys would pitch in toward the cost.

Now Questions:
Is that the bloody AFM I see below the airbox on the Gibson Exa?!?!?!?!
What is the air cooler core looking thing unp the back under the tank?
