Hub question...

Post by EA-73-XA »

Ok, Iv done a search for a few hours and come up with nothing really

Im interested to know.... If anyone has fitted or knows if N14 SSS hub assemblies will bolt to N12 Arms and struts....
possibly with minor modification?

Im looking into pulling off an SR20 conversion... and If I can use unmodified N14 axles (hence the hub fitting)
I know its a shitload of work, but Iv got time and knowledge...and no licence for 12 months..

Im aware that custom mounting will be required and overall this is a huge job

but Im building a purpose no bullshit bullet...

I had been wondering something similar. A friend of mine was wrecking a N14 Pulsar (only the 1.6 nothing special) but I'd wondered if I could use the brakes from it because I figured they would be a bit better than ET brakes (since the N14 weighed more)

But it looks like the differences are not even worth looking at.

Why bother?
Magna disks, Evo calipers and about 10 minutes machine work.
Voilah! 285mm vented brakes.
Car becomes largely undriveable quickly or in the wet due to gross front brake bias but looks cool!!!

Why not just fit N14 CV's to N12 driveshafts? Any problems go away.

could that be possible?

using N14 inners, and the shaft and outers n12?

that would dissipate any dramas regarding length and splines

Yep
Get a pair of n12 and n14 shafts, cut and shut!
Get someone who knows what they are doing with this kind of thing to weld them or they will go bang.
You will be told many times this cannot be done but dont give up. Its surprisingly hard to find people with enough nouse who do this kind of mod. Speak to a racecar fabricator.
