I/C & Radiator

Post by BlackTalon_88 »

Hey guys I'm looking at replacing my intercooler and radiator. The intercooler should be sufficient but I was thinking if I grab a square one of the same or higher volume I could mount it to one side leaving tonnes of room for a big thermo. Also my radiator has a leak and a bit of damage where ppl have been working on the turbo so I may replace that too.
Does this sound like a plan or should I be getting a honking big I/C?

Also.. Anyone know where to get them grey clips that hold the grill on?

the clips i believe can get from nissan, if not go to a wrecker.

as for the intercooler, general rule is the bigger the better. but these came out non intercooled. so its totally a choice of preference. i currently have a big ol' 600x350x90 but i am changing shortly to a much smaller one, simply out of preference

Why not just use a smaller slimline fan in the inside of the radiator?
usually plenty of room on the passengers side.
if the cooling system is even half useful, just a small fan will be fine.

As a loose rule, the shorter and higher the intercooler core is the less restrictive it tends to be. There are more tubes of shorter length.

However, well designed end tanks and core tubes can gety past this but usually only on really high end coolers.

Unless your looking at stupid boost and rpm then that cooler will do its job.

I thought of that but there's not much room because of how the afm and pod are set up. I may be able to make the room with some changes ill be making soon otherwise maybe I could keep the cooler and make some brackets to move it forward and put a fan in between?
