Sr20 into et pulsar

Post by micksetn12 »

Hey folks just been thinking i might consider putting an sr20det in the car instead of the e15et engine. iv done some research and iv seen that it has been done but what i would like to know is would it really be worth the hassle.

From what i know i would have to get a different gearbox and other bits and pieces but has anyone on here done it ? or any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Its a big job M8 everthing depends on what your engineering skills are and what engineering facilities you have at hand.

If you pay someone to do the work then it will hurt....a lot.

Do it all urself and have the facilities, its not particularly difficult.
The only "custom" work will be engine mounts and fabricating up some driveshafts to adapt from whatever gearbox you use to the N12 hubs.
Just hang the engine and transmission in place with a rop and bracket up.

The rest revolves around buggerising around with pipes, hoses, wiring and sundry other guff which is expensive and very time consuming.

However, things get skewed if you want it to be legal. Front brakes will have to be changed along with front suspension components to at least what comes from the engines donor car.
You can fit a 2 litre turbo as N12's did come with a 1600 so that part is ok.

have fun
