Don't do it without an intercooler.

When I got the heads on my old V8 done, I had to drive it for a certain period (can't remember how long) and then take it back to the mechanic for him to check clearences and head bolt tensions.wis41 wrote:didnt know heads had a run in period....? ive never done this.

i wouldn't run 14psi with the stock ecu, especially with all the new work you have done to the engine, do you have a malpassi? id run it at 12psi with a cooler, better to be safe than sorry. but thats my opinion only.exanator wrote:thanks for all this info, keep it coming well......
ive revved it out a bit lol but only on 5psi so i hope its fine!!!
yeh ive got a 300x280 cooler
(also have a 400x300 cooler but not sure whether to use it or not)
would 14psi lean out at all???
and will i need to do anything ot the timing???
why wouldent u use the bigger cooler. the bigger the better. or are u so stingy and dont wanna do the cooler pipeing for itexanator wrote:thanks for all this info, keep it coming well......

well it aint that much of a modification to put bigger cooler!!!
jst not sure about the hassle of it and whether there would be a difference!
so 12psi is it aye!!!
also i dont have a malpassi and am not sure how they work to be honest???
any light shed on the MALPASSI unit would be fantaatic as i know they regulate fuel to a higher extent due to higher boost but not sure on installations etc....
