Is it possible that the factory overboost valve could leak?
Is it possible that the factory overboost valve could leak?
The reason I ask is that when under full power, my boost guage flickers.. reads approx 7psi, but its flickering, so could be anywhere between 6.5-7.5psi.. what could cause this? I have replaced the boost guage and have the same result.. is it possible that its from that overboost valve thing on intake manifold?
or made out of plastic, or a crappy gauge. try putting a valve that you can find in the windscreen washers line. i put one in myn and stopped the flickering all together.

Dude, it wasn't leaking. It was doing what it's supposed to, stop overboost. They open at around 10psi.Ben Hewitson wrote:i swapped my over boost valve with a $2 bung from Banner cause it was leeking and not allowing me to spool over 10psi.

It is possible to get a higher rated valve if you wanted one for piece of mind. I Used to have a 15psi one, untill i started boosting past that

Yeah, do without it, but don't do it without a boost guage!
