CA18DET IN ET
CA18DET IN ET
Hi,
i want to drop a ca18det in my et
What would i need for this conversion besides engine, computer etc?
Has this conversion been successfully done?
Would the stock box handle the stock CA?
Any advice would be appreciated

this has been done and I'm in the process of buying the bits to do it to my exa vert.
you need custom mounts, custom gear selector, n13 hubs, cvs and gearbox, then obvious stuff like wiring, exhaust etc.
i think thats it but ive prolly missed stuff out
so its a big conversion but im looking forward to it, i love the CA engines.

the stock box doesnt bolt up to a CA engine so u would use a N13 pulsar gbox most likely as its the easiest to come across

yep go the sss vlsd box
also a hidden cost unless you have multi-stud pattern rims
the front hubs will be 4x100 which is diff to the rear, so either get multi-studs or be prepared to have differentrims front and rear LOL
but good part about the front hubs is gtir brake upgrade bolt on

bigger capacity makes it harder to rego in some states.
i prefer the ca to the sr, i've had much more experience with em and i prefer the way they behave.
plus with a ca conversion, you can use factory n13 hubs, cvs and gearbox which are very easy and cheap to come by which is always handy when you have a turbo fwd.

agreed the CA is a better choice unless u like having huge amounts of off shelf parts choice.
