Hmmmmmm.......I'm not the smartest bloke on the planet so its pretty unlikly that I'll come up with an original concept, this has definitly been done before in a whole host of different ways under a bunch of different names. Nothing new.

It probably isn't the best thing for the box (dumping into 70% max torque with grippy tyres), but lets face it, winding up the boost in the first place is already a step backward for longevity.

As for double clutching, I have re-read the whole post and can't find a reference to it. What do you mean?

Had some issues with the speed sensor in the dash not doing what I wanted, ended up random swiching at cruse speed :( , I thought that it put paid to that idea. BUT, I figured that the whole thing could also work of a clutch switch.
The standard N/A E15's had em for carby control, and the thread in the clutch stopper takes a replacement brake switch. I'll hook it up in the next coulpe of weeks and see how it goes.

Hey Damo,
I was thinking of intecepting the Speed Sensor signal at the ECU for my data logger. Could you confirm the type of signal it is for me? Is the speed information carried as a frequency (i'll hook it to the digital input reading at 100Hz!) or a voltage signal (which voltage? I can use 2, 5 or 12, all reading at 12.5hz).

Cheers!

hmmm i have built a few launch controllers b4 useing jaycar kits they cost about 60 bux to make and you can flat shift with them , i have used them all on the factory ecus in the cars

i know its not really the best option but they seem to work fine

meh just an opinion
oh and do your ecus not have launch interface inputs ?? im pretty sure i can use one of the thingos in my link to do launch control or antilag

Im almost certain the "speed sensor" in the ET is merely a magnetic reed switch.
One square wave "pulse" for each cable rev. Might pay to absolutely confirm this tho.
Not the best low speed resolution for this kind of clobber.

Callum: Pretty sure that the OE gear is a simple switch on/off at 8kmh. After having a looky in the manual, even the N/A has a speed signal/switch imput to drive something with the carby.

Nz N12: Thats one in the same, just a flat shifting device driven by a clutch imput. Difference would be that through the programable ECU you could dump in extra fuel and pull out timing for a anti lag effect.

but seriously, not sure whos correct here, Damo or E. But with either suggestion the best is to record it as digital and see. Easy. Cheers boys!
