DIY yourself quick shift N12 Turbo

Post by kid nismo »

Due to a lack of aftermarket quick shift gear stick for the N12. I have set out on a mission to make my very own quick shift stick. Enjoy.

One problem, I dont know how to upload my pic.

Cheers

Hi Renegade, I've successfully did the short shifter mod. I've got pics to show peeps what've done. And I agree, cutting the stick shorter doesnt make it a quick shifter. I actually extended the bottom of the shift stick, but had to grind away at the shifter housing to allow for the gear stick to be inserted. The end result was a shorter distance to shift between gears with very little increase in effort.

Pics to follow shortly once I can successfully post up a pic.

Oh damn I've done it, more pics to follow.

In the pic above, I have 2 gear sticks. I have cut them both.
One higher than the other.

I then use the bottom of the gear stick which has the longest length and attached it to the long bottom of the other gear stick.

Here you need a dremil to grind out the gear stick housing slightly.
I found it impossible to insert the gear stick into the housing without doing so.

Here you can see I have grinded away at the top of the housing.

Note: nissian original hole is the one to the bottom left corner.

After you have grounded the top, inserting the gear stick is much easier. (why didnt nissan do this in the first place!)

Once you have positioned the gear stick in place, it's time to put everthing together.

The end results, I find it more satisfying to change gears. The shift between gears is real short and sporty.

But by no means does this mod make my car go faster.

This mod is recondmended to all the bored people with time on their hands.

Mod cost me $10 all up.

Cheers.
