Gearbox Oil

Post by SammyET »

Hey everyone,

Whats gearbox oil should I use?? I went shopping and they only had one so I bought it, It says its 80-90 or something anyway but its API-5. I ended up takin a look at the service manual and it says to use API-4?? Whats the difference.. or can I just use what I've got?

Cheers

Get some Castrol VMX. Also grab the Nulon E70 (i think thats the one) Gearbox additive, its in a 250ml white tube (like a large toothpaste tube). You will have a much nicer feeling gearbox after that, you can fell the difference heaps.

The additive has anti wear/friction properties. We all know these geaboxes dont hold the power to our likings, so its very benificial.

Costs $10-$15 for the VMX and $20ish for the additive.
