I think you're mixing me up with somebody else. I haven't even built my E15ET yet.

Anyway, thanks for the advice! I hope the actuators are strong enough, so I don't need to start messing with relays...

Universal central locking

Hey guys, I found this today:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/remote-con ... 692?item=2

Is it worth the money or just a POS kit? Shipping is free (and it takes 3 weeks to arrive in Finland due to the distance).

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Mmmmm thats an arse. You have 2 courses of action. You can just ignore it and drive around like normal and check your oil regularly, or you can pull the motor, rebuild it at considerable cost and then drive it around........ and check the oil less regularly.... For mine, and unless the thing is rat...

Do a dry & then wet compression test, see what results you get, if nothing to crazy changes in results then do a leak down test, see if air may be escaping out of the intake or exhaust, oil may be seeping through the valve seals into the chamber & burning off causing you to loose oil Good p...

Ok, thanks m8!

I'll try that first!

Yeah, I'm quite sure I don't have a lot of blow-by. My old engine did have lots of blow-by but it had run 385000 k's without a rebuild and it was already losing a bit of compression on two cylinders. This one has run 215000 k's.

Oil rings or valve stem seals?

I'm having a problem with excessive oil consumption on my E15, about one litre per 1000 km. It blows a cloud of smoke on start up and when I drive it, the exhaust gases stink like it's almost constantly burning oil. Especially accelerations make it stink. When the engine warms up a bit, it doesn't s...

It should be possible to change odometer module from the old gauge cluster ( to-do list grows..) Good point, it should be the same speedo mechanism anyway! It's possible to buy rear drum brake shields from Nissan (Autokeskus), and price is 101 euros per shield in Finland (corresponds 124 Australian...

Nice! I like it all! Did you correct the odometer reading before installing the new gauge cluster?

Where did you find so good dust shields/base plates for the rear drums? I can't seem to get hold of a set from anywhere! New drums are available at eBay but no dust shields...

It´s a lot cheaper to renovate the starter motor than buy a new one of course and have a disassembled one that I have taken some measurements of and will see if I can get some article numbers on spare parts needed. Yeah, that's a good idea! I think I can find a starter motor at the junkyard because...

Got a picture of the exhaust from underneath the car? The two mufflers look really nice, they fit the jetspeed bumper perfectly. 8)
