I read somewhere that only making grooves in the head/block is another method of making the HG seal better because it allows the HG to 'deform' itself to the shape of the groove

Lean mixtures, way too much ignition advance, melted tip iridium sparkplugs and other scary scenes...

I used high watt natural light bulbs
90/120?
Had to fit a dedicated relay, upgrade the wiring and replace the sockets now and then because of the high temps
And then the bulbs lasted a couple months before failing
Returned to normal watt bulbs (55/65)
