it is the fifth syncronization hub and gear, that wears down, you should not drive these babies under 50mph on fifth gear 'cause the oil distribution on the box doesn't work properly under 2000 rpm (engine)

Im pretty sure thats in an optical sensor. It has 4 wires: power, ground and 2 signal wires. 1 of the signals pulses at TDC on 1st cylinder, and the other pulses once for each cylinder.
