There are plenty of examples of people putting the AFM between the turbo and throttle body on this site. Will work. Just make sure you have it the right way round.

I would pay $100 ish at 'U-Pull it' for a turbo or non turbo head and it might be just as shit. If someones got a better head than the ones I'm presenting for $50 i.e. not warped, cracked and have more material I'd be keen. But I doubt it. Are those coolant galleries in head 1 a massive issue? And i...

WHICH HEAD TO REBUILD

Hey guys, I have 2 Turbo heads. The one with the pitted compression chamber (looks like its got acne scars!!) and the other has 3 or 4 rotting coolant galleries. The one with the pitted compression chamber looks like its loosing meat in between the exh/int valves. It also looks like it has been shav...

oil cooler seals

There is 1 orange rubber oil seal behind the oil cooler assembly. Say 100mm diameter. Anyone replaced this before and if so where did you source them? Is it a sprint auto/superchheap kind of item or do i need to ring around industrial seals dealers with some dimensions?

Cheers,

Nice job, hope the roadworthy went smooth. I would have scratched my head and gone to the turbo shop too. I just hope the shafts are in tolerance when I rebuild. Really need to get some verniers and some spec sheets.

The oil ring groove on the turbo shaft gets absolutely caked with carbon. If you use a dentist pick you can get it clean (not sure how you did it?). The oil groove on my T2 shaft had to be machined and have an oversized seal put in cause it was farked along with the core heat shield. I know with min...

I find even when you do good things to the car i.e. service, check timing etc etc, bad shit happens as in your case. It's like everytime you touch the bastard it stirs something new up.

Mad N12 is from the hills I think. Could be someone to talk to if you need a hand. If you have any problems post them in the General tech and mods section. Problems with these relics can be as simple/stupid as a worn fuel reg vacuum hose, shit water temp sensor, ecu connector etc etc. If you give en...

Nice one. Give that bad boy a clean though. This thing was on ebay a little while ago. From Bordertown I think. Where in Adelaide are you? Good luck with the build.

It's not going to happen dude, these cars are a fuckin disease. Anyone that's had one and was happy to leave it at 10psi has never been on this forum. Beautiful, pristine example . Maybe xr6eta is right. Got the bug yet? Can the lower part of the front bar go back on? You're 14 psi ahead of my buil...
