I untensioned the tensioner and double checked the timing and fired it up and it was fine but........the intial proplem of the tapping noise hasn't gone so its not the tensioner but the funny thing is when i wd40 the fucker it stops...WTF is GOIN ON!!!

Sweet, I only let it tick over and it went knock, knock, knock and I swithced it off you guys think iv fucked it up?

guys remember I said the time belt tensioner was shit, well it was... I have replaced it with the old one which was fine. but when it came to firing up the engine well let me tell you I heard three knocks and I switched it straight off! I did set the engine on the timing marks before I took the belt...

Grease nipple or nate mate, as soon as the rubber that holds the grease is pierced you will sooner or later have to replace them.

Iv sorted the probolem out, it was the timing belt tensioner which was abit dry. Wacked some wd40 on it and it sound beautifull.

I started at the other end whilst it was worm and adjusted the tappets but still the same thing. tonight im going to check the timing and also I was looking at the manual and ther is a smail 3 bolt plate that goes on the backplate of the timeimg plate and also block which isn't there so ill look for...
