Re: Bigger Engine swap legality in QLD, answers here

I know Jon in Bris did the SR20DET swap years ago, http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67210269 Don't know where it is now, it obviously physically fitted, the rest of the systems to make it driveable would be needed regardless of CA or SR. FYI Jon's set-up is still in B...

Got all my wheels on today, fronts dont scrub! But need to get longer studs for the back and spacer plates. Will need longer studs all round really, cause the nuts dont have to much thread to hold on to as it is, but will do fronts once i get n13 nubs on there! http://i332.photobucket.com/albums/m34...

Im not sure if they were imported into NZ or not, you should check around any wreckers and see if they have ever had any. You never know you might get lucky :)

With the blocks, i think its the other way around, CA alloy and SR cast iron, just something i read somewhere or maybe im wrong. With the brakes, the engineer i spoke too said as long as you got the same brakes as the car the engine came out of or better, should be passable. CA's also fit easier the...

you can roll ya own guards, i helped a mate roll his guards on his silvia, but it was already lowered so it was abit easier. You just need a pipe(size depends on the distance between the guard and the tyre) and some rag to protect the paint and the tyre and you get some in the drivers seat to drive ...

Yeh 205 45s are common and wheni asked at a tyre shop yesty they said bout $ 125 new, so look around and see what deals you can get.

Also if you havnt got spacers or rolled guards, you might have issues with the tyres scrubbing like mine are doing at the moment!

Re-read all this, will be interesting to see what Sam finds with the front lower ball joint issue .... I'd rather spend my time rebuilding a CA instead of an E15, haven't looked inside the bores or head or water passages of my E15ET for 7 years so they're probably corroded anyway. Complete CA's are...
