I suspect the camshaft got unevenly worn down because the rocker shaft wasn't exactly aligned as it should be, it was a bit off and it may have caused bad lubrication, warping the #4 exhaust lobe as a result and wearing down all the other lobes. So it turns out that I was too much in a rush in Augus...

Hello guys, it's been a while since I last posted an update to my thread. A few things have happened lately: In September, the old head gasket finally blew as you know. I took some time to replace it and clean up the engine on the inside a bit at the same time. The camshaft seal behind the camshaft ...

Possible camshaft issues...
Hey there guys, long time no hear! I ran into a bit of a trouble; the engine is doing chuff-chuff-chuff at idle (one cylinder clearly coughing but not misfiring) but running fine above 1100 rpm, apart from a couple of misfires here and there. The combustion is clean, the spark plugs stay clean and l...

Blew my head gasket the other day. I was accelerating WOT on the freeway and the engine started to lose power and jerk... I got worried and let off the gas pedal until I felt a stable speed so I could get off the freeway (would have stopped completely if the engine wouldn't have stabilized). I check...

Ok, thanks m8! It hasn't fouled any plugs yet, rather the opposite now that the valve stem seals are replaced. Acceleration has improved too, especially at high speeds. I was cruising on the freeway at 135 km/h the other day, I downshifted to fourth gear and floored it. I hit 160 (speedo needle at 1...

Alright, I believe I have stuffed piston rings on cylinder #3... the spark plug is covered in oil after a cold start... but after driving around for a while it cleans up and looks as good as any of the other plugs... completely normal amounts of soot deposits etc... nothing dramatic at all! I guess ...
