Adjusted the tappets, but unfortunetly it still sounds the same. The ticking noise is mainly comming from the cam sprocket. Any ideas what it could be? I also noticed the noise increases when the car warms up. Im getting so worried! Any suggestions guys?

Iv went out and bought one this morning, going to give it a try. I haven't got a torque wrench so for the mean time ill have to tighten it without one. Is there a cold clearance level for the tappets or do I let it heat up to normal temp and then adjust?

lol i guess not, i could find something like a blade and mease it with a vernier and set via that, but thats abit of a boj job lol. Ill just have to bus it to work tomorow!

Iv done just over a 100 miles after the rebuild and the engine is running smooth apart from what i think is the click click click noise coming from the rocker cover. p.s it a four door.

The 83 model et has a sunfroof as well and thats 4 doors as well.

This is the symptoms of a slipping clutch. Lets hope you haven't glazed it already.
