... Sorry for the bucket load of questions  ... When driving it back down the hill are you suggesting getting the overrun to hit 5-6k or are you saying take it up to 5-6k and then down shift? I know you said not to be scared but it is a bit scary doing all this ...

... and the higher the cylinder pressures the better. Then coming downhill when you can rev it up to say 5000-6000 rpm then back off with a prolonged overrun. Do this a couple of times. By now, your motor has been running for about 20 minutes and your "run in" is completed. There ya go! ...

... hard pull to the 6500 rpm soft limiter. One major drama that has resulted is a major oil smoking from this turbo when on an extended engine overrun od idling. This was a slight and infrequent issue on the old T25 but is an annoying everyday occurrence on this turbo. Its more my installation ...

Nope nope and nope. Backfiring and popping on overrun is from leanness and made worse by retarding the ignition. Id say the TPS is not adjusted correctly as ET should have overrun cut. l8r E Surely backfiring can't result from leanness? there must ...

Id suggest your TPS is not adjusted correctly. The 'crackling" you refer to on throttle overrun is just ordinary backfiring and is a result of LEAN conditions, not rich. If its running rich then the zorst will just give a soft "burble" on overrun. This ...

... engine. Also a whiney 4th gear... meh. Let it whine. Humming wheel bearings on the RHS front. It is still fuming quite a bit on prolonged throttle overrun making me think that it has prolly stuffed valve guide seals. Clean as on part and full power and idle. I have the original recoed head off ...

Small update. I've installed a new walbro fuel pump, tps, o2 sensor and idle air valve. Got it running in closed loop now and overrun fuel cut is enabled. My ECU should arrive back from wolf on monday so i can return this one to my mate. I've got to put a new intake manifold gasket on ...

... load maps at higher vacs are usually a little different. Just makes the engine a little less smooth on low idle. Also you cannot invoke the engine overrun fuel cut and a couiple of tuning parameters that relay on throttle position. Given the TPS is already fitted, and assists low down smoothness, ...

... synthetic. Good value and available anywhere. However, I found that the oil consumption was unnacceptably high and the turbos smoked a bit on long overrun, particularly in the FJ20et with a dodgey T03. I also used this oil in the Formula Vee engine and found similar dramas with smoking and high ...
