Hey Mike,
Glad the see you are enjoying the car.
Just remember when choosing a turbo, the current turbo is externally gated. There may be some modifications needed to make it all work. Just something to consider.
keep the updates happening. I'm glad the car went to a good home.
Cheers
Dean

Ok, so got the piping welded up, put it all together tonight, and all I can say is wow! The car has never run this well, which tells me there was a leak for a while. There is no hunting on idle, car starts easier, throttle response is hugely different, and hitting higher and harder boost. I know it ...

This is an old post but, thought I would write in and give an update. So, after removing the external wastegate, bov, boost controller and all the silicone elbows, I could not find a leak. Though, whilst cleaning some oil from the stainless steel section of the inter cooler piping, low and behold, a...

Ok I got it.
Get a piece of a4 paper, fold it in half, then with the paper folded in two, blow between the two pieces... The vibration will make a noise. Try it, you'll know what Im talking about.

Mine does that also, like a priming noise? So don't think it's that.
Oh just to make a note, I haven't noticed any performance issues or other problems.

Strange duck noise on vac

Hey guys, I have this strange noise coming from the engine bay, after I hit boost. You can hear it after full boost, but is most prominent after just coming on Boost in low revs, then letting off the throttle. The best way to describe it is it sounds like a duck quacking. A long drowning quaaaaaaaaa...

All Sorted!! Just in case anyone ever has this problem, check to make sure there are no air leaks in the injectors, it will make the car run and idle like shit! I loosened the bolts which hold the custom fuel rail, pulled on the back of it, pushing the injectors tight against the block, then tighten...

Car/Idle Hunting - NOW FIXED!

Hey guys, I just replaced the o-rings to my injectors. Put the fuel rail all back together. now when the car is running on idle, it hunts (like it normally would with a big cam) but now it hunts so much it stalls. This may be a stupid question, but if the rail was not put back properly, in order to ...

A couple of electrical questions

Hey guys, finishing up work for the year, so have some time to work on the exa, cleaning it up etc. Im pedantic as hell when it comes to the 'little things' working on older cars... i think its a reflection of the car's condition and the person attention to detail, when the little things are right.....
