I might use that cotton technique one day. Great tip. If u were down in melbourne, i would recommend Comet Batteries for your alternator and battery needs.

Yeah just the low numbers. Factoring in wear/damage of the rings over time, 112psi doesn't seem much of a margin of 90psi.

Is it a lemon? I'm thinking whoever rebuilt it could've botched it? With high boost, it doesn't neccessarily require forgies does it? As I recall the cast ones holding up fine in some quick ET's.

Whilst I did mention the water temp sensor, it is only one of the several sensors related to the ECCS fuel management. Might wanna therefore check and eliminate each one using a multimeter as Darren mentioned.

Sluggish is a very good way to describe it. Despite spooling a small t2. i'm used to seeing full boost aroun 2800-3000 RPM. Its moved towards 3200RPM I do hope its not close to some threshold that stops the combustion chamber from working at all. Any thoughts as to what such a figure would be? For e...

This was the diagram i was referring to: http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo246/willd0g/ET%20related/ECCSandFuelinjection.jpg Slow down Antset haha, the water temp sensor isn't anywhere near the water pump but in fact on the other side of the engine. It is screwed into the thermostat housing, som...

Low compression

Hi all, Did a compression test on the motor. Got 112psi evenly across all cylinders. I'm used to seeing around 150. Not this low! But it's even... A search did bring up photoglossy mentioning minimum psi should be 129. It raises the question as to whether it was rebuilt that way to take on High boos...

A bloke i bought an ET from in SA said he had a simmilar problem. He replaced the water temp sensor and it solved it. After looking through the service manual for fun, i noticed a diagram illustrating how the ECU does take into consideration factors such as water temp, and various other sensors such...

Evan is right....i just didn't want to face it. Damo it's definately the box. Kimmo i believe the wheels would rotate fine if they were suspended in the air. I did it once before...sort of, and occurs under load/weight i believe. So my last question: does anyone here have any preference to whether t...

The driveshafts were installed correctly, sent all the way home and seated in the gearbox. The clutch was attached to the new engine wen I bought it. Just mated the gearbox to it. I managed to take it for a drive down the street. However taking off creates violent shudder. With my foot depressing th...

Jammed up gearbox

GHey all, Can anyone can shed some light as to how I screwed up my gearbox? I recently did an engine swap and took the box off the old engine and put it on the new one. Engine works great. Before doing so I cracked open the gearbox case to take a look inside. Didn't do anything other than pop out a ...

Location: Princes Hwy, Chadstone VIC
Spotted: White ET, Lowered with black rims, White male driver with shaved head. Car looked harmless amongst the traffic that night.

The car was taking its time to pick up speed after each set of lights. Just babying it i suppose.
